Memorial Service for Bill MacLennan
A memorial service for the late William E. (Bill) MacLennan will be held on Sat. Aug. 27 at 11 am at St. Matthew’s with a reception to follow in the church hall. Bill died on Aug. 7 as the result of a stroke. Visitation will be Friday Aug. 26 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Snow’s Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, where a Masonic service will be held Friday at 7:30 pm.
Bill and his late wife, Georgie, will be remembered fondly at St. Matthew’s for their faith and commitment to the congregation. Bill was Sunday School Superintendent in the 1950s and 1960s, and over subsequent decades he was chair of the Board of Stewards and the 250th anniversary planning committee. He was also the church archivist for many years and a custodian of many anecdotes from our rich history.
Please remember in your prayers Bill’s daughters Donna MacLennan Salter and Susan Dale MacLennan, granddaughters Meghan and Ria, and the rest of the family.
Annual Reports due Sept. 3
Committee chairs are reminded that year-end reports are due by Sept. 3. Please submit to Dora at the church office by email – firstname.lastname@example.org
