On July 1st, three historic downtown Halifax United Church congregations - Fort Massy, St. Andrew's and St. Matthew's - that have each carried the faith through generations become one.
For the time being we're calling ourselves " Halifax United" . Our website is halifaxunited.ca
This amalgamation is undertaken to consolidate our energy, gifts, resources, people, and material assets for more effective Christian ministry. Driven by both theological conviction and practical necessity, we seek to create a vibrant, faithful, and sustainable expression of the United Church that will be a blessing to our community, welcoming to strangers, deepening faith, and practicing faithful stewardship of all our gifts and resources.
In July we will be worshipping together at our 1479 Barrington St - the former St. Matthew's site. In August we'll be worshipping at 6036 Coburg Road - the former St. Andrew's site.
Come join us in worship and see what we're all about !
Welcoming people regardless of background and social situation, sexual orientation and gender identity, who are interested in joining our journey of growth and discovery;
Living in the center of Halifax Regional Municipality we seek to influence the community for social justice and peace in alliance with individuals and organizations around us;
Expending our resources and our talents for the betterment of lives locally, nationally, and around the globe.

The rich Methodist tradition of music as worship, praise, and a source of joy is present at St. Matthew’s all the time.
